Dead End Poem by Alicia Moore

Dead End

Life is just a path you walk
You're just walking to a Dead End
In this world so cold
Never knowing when you will die
Suddenly, someone takes your life.

Feel the mist air around you as you come home
Worrying about if youll make it alone
You feel so cold so paranoid
Once you unlock your house your safe
But why do you not feel so.

Long day away from bed
Turn off your lights and rest your head
Close your eyes and everything is alright.

The door creeks and light shines in
All it is you think is a dream
You dont want to wake up see the terror in your home
Footsteps walking towards you
Thinking what do you do.

Stops and you hear breathing
Kill him is all you want
Reach your hand, grab whatever you can
Just kill, kill him before he does you.

Its too late, he holds you down
Telling you, you are gonna die today
Crying and sobbing to let you go
What have you done?
It isnt your fault.

You close your eyes once again
Feel the blood splash on your face
Feel the pain that has been released
Him fighting you as you fight him.

You open your eyes, look at your hand
Then look at him, lying on your bed, dead
Your hand holds a broken piece of glass
That picture of you and your parents
Covered in blood broken on the floor.

Your target is down you got what you wanted
But you dont feel good for killing
You murdered someone
You tell yourself he was gonna kill you first
Then everything will be alright.

Life... is like a path.

You are only walking to a Dead End
