Dead Hero Poem by Samkelo Dlamini

Dead Hero

Rating: 3.5

When I was alive,
I was a nobody,
When i'm dead
I'm now a 'hero'

Who are you deceiving Mr preacher?
Who are you fooling exactly?
You didn't even know me,
To speak so highly of me,
To stand in the altar and sing praises about me.

Wait my cousin,
The audacity to shed a tear
Paying your respect now,
You never respected me!
Or ever liked me for that matter.

When I was alive,
I was a nobody,
When i'm dead
I'm now a 'hero'

I wonder how you people do it,
lying in each other's faces
As if you don't have a reality to face,
I wonder if this is always the case
For everyone who has finished the race...

Oh even you uncle;
You always spoke ill about me like a foe,
Today as I have departed,
Your story have changed
Oh you can fool them
let them fall for your lies,

When I was alive,
I was a nobody,
When i'm dead
I'm now a 'hero'

You have to stop lying like a lawyer defending a murderer,
Today is the day
Haven't ya'll read the 'good book'?
Where it condemns lying,
Yet you continue to breed lies?

If I try to stop you,
You'll call me a ghost,
While you all lost,
In the midst of your lies!
