Dear Honored Friend Poem by Mixo Malepfane

Dear Honored Friend

Dear honored friend

Your name says it all
Truly you are a gift but not just to me but to us all
It is a true honor to be called your friend
For you are more precious than all the precious stones

You are loyal to those you hold dear to you
And I know everyone is dear to you
Sometimes I wonder why and how you love this much
Then I see those that love you and I am amazed

You have not cursed yourself with beauty
Nor has it closed your eyes and turned your heart into stone
Jealousy has not been born to you and your views
For you only envy those who love more than you can

If I could wish for one thing for you
It would be that the love that you have grow
And that with age comes maturity and wisdom
I still remember the first time you called me your friend, I was glad because I knew it was true, sincere and eternal.
