Death

Rating: 5.0

I walk seemingly alone but by my side one hand upon my shoulder death walks invisible beside me I never acknowledge him I do not need to for now he is not needed, his job is a long one from the time my heart beats for the first time he has taken his place beside me each passing second he shall become one step to completing his journey and I one step to completing mine when the last breath escapes my lips I will see him for the first and final time the last image my eyes shall ever see. However death is not a person simply a shadow a shadow that follows every living thing waiting for the one event that will terminate its life. Forever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Death is not something to fear it is a fact. For life to survive there must also be death.
