he is the sweetest soul
with a heart full of gold,
the kindest man i know.

he has so much love to give
especially to his kids,
he always puts others before himself.

he's always on my side
even when i'm not right,
like on his 40th birthday.

his arms are always open
with a welcoming a hug,
a gentle, loving and caring soul.

he held me in his arms when i was born
talking to me even though i wasn't listening,
about my big brother and sister, and the life i had ahead of me.

he taught me to be carefree and not to be concerned by what others think.

he taught me to work hard for what i want
and to believe in myself.

he taught me to always strive for the very best
and never settle for anything less.

he taught me what unconditional love is
he showed me what it means to be a good person.

he also told me to shop around for quotes before a big purchase.

i'm so proud to call this man my dad,
he has shown me what it means to be taken care of, loved and appreciated.

if i'm half as good as a parent as my dad,
i would be the second best parent on the planet.
