Death By The River Bend Poem by Montaha Gasir

Death By The River Bend

Rating: 5.0

I sat by the river bend,
Contemplating death.
When he joined me,
Without uttering a breath.

A soft smile appeared on his face,
As he stared at the distance.
My body went rigid,
Wondering his existence.

He let out a breath,
And said to me,
"Isn't it magical how these creatures
Shine with glee? "

Shocked, I replied, "How could you say
Such a thing with pride,
When it is from you
That they hide? "

A soft chuckle left his mouth,
"My apologies, I meant no offence
For I am not how people make me,
An evil immense"

I felt confused,
By the unfolded scene.
So I asked him,
"Whatever do you mean? "

"You see,
I am not harmful or hurtful,
Evil or painful,
I am but a soft breeze
That carries a soul to peace."
