Death Is Kind To Me - Poem by Alex Mei

Death is kind to me.

He chases me.
He plays with me.
He loves me.

Death is kind to me.

He is not like the others.
He does not leave me behind.
He is a true friend.

Death is kind to me.

When I'm down, he cheers me up.
He will never leave me.
He is my best friend.

Death is kind to me.

For years we have been friends.
We played when we were young.
Played when we grew old.

Death is kind to me.

At last when my time came.
He saw the pain in my eyes.
He knew it was my time.

Death is kind to me.

He came to me.
He spoke softly to me.
I went with him.

Death is kind to me.

Like best friends we rose.
Soared higher than an eagle.
Then darkness.

Death is kind to me.
