Death Of A Friend Poem by Ray Hansell

Death Of A Friend

I never thought goodbye
Would ever leave my lips
I never thought I'd see a day
That it would be you I miss

But now that you are gone
Hopefully to a better place
I'll always remember the smile
That was always on your face

Somehow I always believed
That you would always be near
Somehow I always thought
That you would forever be here

I know no one lives forever
But somehow I hoped you might
I always have pleasant thoughts of you
As I remember you each night
