Death Of Love Poem by Fathimath Farha

Death Of Love

His bright blue eyes stared back,
At the one wielding the sword,
Placed on his neck, pressing, so hard,
A little skin gave way, blood seeped out.
He flinched in pain, yet he stood unwavering.

His bright blue eyes stared back,
At the monster who took away,
His life from him, the girl he loved.
She had gone missing, nowhere to be found,
He had searched for her, for far too long, till,
He heard her cry,
In which he felt the grief,
Of being wrenched away from,
The one you cared for most.
He felt her misery, true and raw.
He had rushed in to save her.

But now,
There she lay, unconscious in blood,
Trickling from the sides of her tender lips,
The very same lips that spoke sweetness,
Words that he will never forget.
The very same lips that he had kissed,
When he held her safely,
locked in a tight embrace.

His bright blue eyes stared back,
At the demon that killed his cherished.
His beloved, the same person to whom,
He had promised to die protecting.
The very girl who lay lifeless,
Out cold right beside him.

His bright blue eyes stared back,
Taunting this evil to take away,
His life as well only so that,
He could join his love again,
Somewhere out there, she awaits.

His bright blue eyes faded blank,
As the sword drew out his life.
He breathed his last and slowly fell back,
Smiling as he reunited with his girl,
The love of his now lost life…
