Death's Knocking Poem by Rebecca Cox

Death's Knocking

As I stare out my window, watching the rain falling down,
My tears run over my lips, set in a frown.
I glare into the rainy night,
A knock at my door makes me leap with fright.
I know I'm dreaming, but the knock was real,
Now the fear in my heart is all I can feel.
Now death closes around me,
But I know, that really, my soul is being set free.
Free of pain and free of sorrow,
But, for me, there's no tomorrow.
The waves of death crash over me,
In my heart and out my spirit.
But my mind shalt not fear it,
For I know that with the Lord,
I shall Live, forever more...
