Death Squeeze I Poem by Ken Rosebrugh

Death Squeeze I

Ken R. Rosebrugh, Copyright, July 12,2020

Warning! It is strongly recommended that you DO NOT
Ever try this experiment.

1st. Verse
A 14 year old boy, I went that night to play with my friends.
We usually played ‘Kick the Can', a variation of ‘Hide ‘n Seek'.
But this warm summer night they played a deadlier tease.
They called it ‘Squeeze and Faint'. I call it ‘the Death Squeeze'.

I call it the ‘Breath of Death', a near death experience.
I call it ‘on the edge', a knock on the door of Doctor ‘D'.

2nd. Verse
My friends whispered about it like they knew it was bad.
They asked me, ‘Want to try something really rad? '
I said, ‘Sure', but sensed danger in the air and hesitated.
They bravely asked Ruth Ann to explain, so I'd be placated.

I call it the ‘Spooky Wooky', a fast worm hole ride.
I call it a ‘Hitchcock Special', slingshot around the dark side.

3rd. Verse
"Take ten deep breaths quickly and hold the last one tight,
Then big Jim will bear hug you, till your head feels light."
"Okay." So I huffed and puffed, then big Jim grabbed me.
He gave me the big squeeze and soon I couldn't see.

I call it tempting the pontifical finger of fate, a body up for claim.
I call it grabbing the Devil by the tail, flying too close to the flame.

4th. Verse
All I remember is the darkness overcoming me as I fell,
And then the instant replay of my life in precise detail.
Every image accompanied by the same strong feelings
That etched my soul, giving me their special meanings.

I call it teasing the tiger, they'll soon come to mourn you.
I call it the Grim Reaper Creeper, a visit to Hotel California.

5th. Verse
Rapidly images came from the early months of my new earth life
Right up to that frivolous day when I laid on the green turf
Then an urgent message spoke softly to my deeper brain,
"A few seconds more and your eyes will ne'er open again."

I call it Away With-Out Leave, Paradise Pre-visited.
I call it illegal peeking, no visitors before terminated.

Warning! It is ‘still' strongly recommended that you do not try this experiment. Ever!

6th. Verse
Like the soul within your heart exposed through pure glass,
Playing children found a window looking on a forbidden place.
A review of life with emotions saved on mental hard drive,
Surprised we could see it safely, somehow, and survive.

7th. Verse
Remember, we're on ‘Neuro-film' in the archive of our brain.
You can't lie, escape detection or alter it to pin the blame.
It's sealed testimony of how you lived and when you pass away,
It determines the kingdom where you'll stay for all eternity.

Last Chorus
I call it inner space experience, a hole in the Soul-Zone, ‘R.D.M.'
I call it detri-experi-mental, a black hole in the Soul System.

They called it ‘Squeeze and Faint'. I call it ‘the Death Squeeze'.
They called it really rad. Dr. ‘D' simply says, ‘Come in, please.'

Note:

R.D.M.: means Rapid Death Movement; My meaning indicates the possibility of rapid death while a person is in a self induced state of sleep and not in full control of their bodily functions.
‘rad': cool
‘Dr. ‘D': Dr. Death
