December Poem by Nina gáspari

December

And you said
You´d wait for me
So I turned and walked away
Confident and free
The river of life floated me through
Many ups and downs
And it eventually had me burned out
I can still remember
The resentment in your eyes
As we agreed on saying goodbye
The way your hands seemed to seek
Strength through your hair
And I just walked away
Didn´t mind to care
I´ve ran out of chips and
Lost the game of love,
I have nothing else to risk
And I can still remember
When you said
You would wait for me
Time after time, u betted all your dimes
On one simple, infinite smile
And I can still remember
It was one rainy December…
