Deception Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Deception

Said hell no to who you think that I am
I don't see myself through your perspective
I already know, unlike you, who I am
Ain't trynna live through lens that is deceptive

all the world's a play
but I don't perform a character
cause times we live is grey
I know what I must do
I've received the answers

What I'm to do in life
I just wanna make the errors right
Help show the world what's real
Cause life's a lie full of deception

I'll tell you what I think
some will like and some won't
and everytime you hear, you'll be effected
all that we‘ve been taught
You really can't believe or to
accept it

all the world's a play
but I don't perform a character
cause times we live is grey
I know what I must do
I've received the answers

What I'm to do in life
I just wanna make the errors right
Help show the world what's real
Cause life's a lie full of deception

I won't listen when you tell me
who I'm gonna....
who you think i'm gonna be
I'm going show you obviously
I can't be nobody but me
And it's exactly who I want to be
And that's exactly what you're going to see.
