Decieved Poem by Pondering Portrait

Decieved

A glitter in the sunlight
An awe inspiring beauty
That can be taken in by sight
But not by touch

But how can eyes be enough
To capture it into but memory
When they deceive my very mind
How can they be trusted?

Altering the scenes that they witness
Staging their own drama
Erasing what it’d turn away from
While lying to my soul

Content with what brings pleasure
And every narcotic thrill
Driving my sense from all
That it’d gladly deny
