Decline - Poem by Kelly Kurt

When government becomes a caricature of itself
The society is in a decline
Lying, posturing, mud-slinging
Biased, self-righteous, clueless
Accusing, dodging, pandering
Backscratching, one-percenters
Worshipped at home by fools
Laughed at abroad by all
A house divided…

This is exactly the situation in most of the countries........ I feel this is most applicable to the state I live in at present!

    A house divided!

It isn't just an American thing, (Though perfected it.) : -)

    1 person liked.
    0 person did not like.

    [ A house divided]]
    A country chided,
    Raked over the coals

Shame on all these legal criminals, .
You called it like it is, loud and clear! !
    Excellent cry!
    Thank you, Kelly

It is easy to be speechless. Politicians are self serving idiots and government is run by big business and the rich.

Well, I don't laugh at Mr. Trump along with his likes, Mr. Ted Cruz (Sarah Palin gets a special mention) , they are outrages to be honest.. I have doubts about Mrs. Hilary Clinton too. I felt weird when the Iowans sent that douche Trump down, but then it is Ted Cruz who won.. And it was sad to see Bernie Sanders losing by 0.3 percent there.. Really sad.. The only American politician who has my respect is Bernie.. I can feel the bern! !

A fine poem Kelly. I guess, both the U. S. A and India, and perhaps the whole world needs better politicians (if those two words are not an oxymoron) ...

    Thanks for sharing.

For once, it won't entirely be a 'lesser of two evils' choice if Bernie is the Dem candidate. Thanks for your input, Souren. I respect it.

Great write. Very universal in its appeal though you might have written it in American context but every one living in any part of the world can relate to it. (Report) Reply

Indeed, a politician is a universal scourge.

Sigh! Every country is facing this shame of self indulgence. I wonder when is this society give a wake up call to all these politicians. Sensible and thought provoking poem. (Report) Reply

Perhaps some form of competency test must be passed before one is allowed to run. (and perhaps vote)
