Gregory Grinham
Down in the hush of the deep,
where colours thicken
and the world narrows
to breath, heartbeat,
and the slow drift of limbs,
the diver begins the quiet climb.
A trail of bubbles lifts first,
small silver witnesses
marking presence,
each one a soft release—
a letting go,
a rising thought.
The body follows the diagonal path,
tilted toward light,
held between weight and buoyancy,
solitude and serenity,
moving with the patience
of someone returning
from an inner conversation.
Above, the blues loosen,
greens turn luminous,
and the water thins
into something almost tender—
a veil of brightness
that welcomes without hurry.
At the surface, light gathers.
It does not rush the ascent;
it simply waits,
a quiet promise
that every inward journey
has a place to rise toward.
