Deficient Enough Poem by RIC BASTASA

Deficient Enough

i thank you for the
wonderful time.
You do not have to
know it.
I did not say it.
i write it here and
you do not know where
i am.
i thank you for that
kiss.
i hope you liked it.
i thank you for the
embrace.
you were never that
tight
your body was loose.
mine was hanging upon
a cliff in the darkness of
my own abyss.
i thank you for the
your silence.
i may soon forgive myself
about my own way of
forgetting you
sooner than i must to
keep my sanity within.

i love the trees that line
the road of my life
i like the falling leaves
and the winds
i love the sound of the truck
thinning its way
towards a distance
dissolving its presence
in the blurry
mountains.

i love this life
i love this love
and i am just to
deficient enough.
