Define (Incomplete) Poem by Johnathon Brisby

Define (Incomplete)

'Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.' - Andre Gide.
-------------------------------
Why is it that darkness moves andante whilst light is meteoric?
Does it mean that light is faster and stronger than darkness,
Or just that light is the easiest way to conceal the shade behind it?
The shadow that follows every being during the day, a reflection.
The only accurate reflection of everything inside that one is ashamed of.
The face of the one all see is the acceptable falsehood each person tries to present.
By this, would it not mean that ones public life is the mask of light and lies,
Behind which hides the truest of intentions, the darkest of honest intentions.
... I pause,
And shutter to think that kindness might only be a trick to gain something for ones-self.
To be truly helpful must one possess the ability to destroy all lies, or absorb them?
The need to become the black-hole to tear away the mendacious beauty all around.
Perhaps the darkest of intentions are not those to be feared.
Perhaps it is the light that we should question, why the hell is it so revered?
We fear the dark because we do not fully understand it,
And therefore cannot accept or believe it.
If light is the trusting face existing to deceive, then is dark the obvious yet uncertain validity?
To find the truth, a search is needed, thus the shroud of blackness exists.
The brightest stars, though easily seen, burn the biggest area,
And the darkest trenches, with little consoling assurance, hold the largest secrets.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

An awesome write. Deep content, having knowledge and insight. Draws one in when read. A poem that makes you ponder! One of the thoughts I had, was the speed of light.... Read my Kingdom of Darkness, might enjoy.
