Democracy Poem by Martine Kolber

Democracy

Rating: 5.0

Bagages on airports
Cars in front of Cafés
People amongst people

Everything explodes

But not here
But not yet here
So we can oversee
Those explosions

Distant habit

A child kneels
At democracy’s tomb

Dear Sirs, Dear Presidents
If we do not protect democracy
Over there, do we here?
