Demon Days Poem by Whitney Thayne

Demon Days

Rating: 5.0

Some days I'll have a Demon Day
When demons come around to play.
They fill my heart and my mind.
I fear the evil things they say.

The words they speak are not kind.
It is not happiness I find.
They speak when I am most alone.
It's my hope they catch and bind.

They turn my heart to hardened stone.
The light that once in me shone
Is dim and out; I cannot see
The goodness in me; it is gone.

'You are worthless. You cannot be
Strong enough to fly free.
The world is better without you here.'
These are the words they speak to me.

The Demon Days come with fear
As demons fly with a sneer,
And always leave me with a tear.
And always leave me with a tear.
