Demoted Love Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Demoted Love

Rating: 5.0

My loves been demoted in your heart
From its whole to a tiny part
New love has wormed its way in
Making mine seem like a sin
You squeezed it to a fraction of its size
This, I know is my loves demise
Mine cracked from top to bottom
The whole central core went completely rotten
Cut out and cast far aside
Here in darkness will, I reside
Another heart one day may fix
Or will it be just another remix
Love is a peculiar trait
Can my mind ever relate?
Confusion is always here in my sight
Is it worth I wonder, really worth the fight
This is my quandary can I work out
Do I just let it go, or give vent to my feelings, scream and shout?
