Denial Poem by Nicole Gehrman

Denial

Confronted with anger.
steam flowing from my ears.
wishing there to be at least
one decent person in this unforgiving world.

no respect is given
when there is stone-cold proof.
always got to deny
when its right there in front of you.

lies forming on your lips.
mind quick to process it
only saying the same thing over and over.
hoping to drill it into my mind, so ill believe it.

denial once again.
no one could ever be your friend,
when your life is just a bunch of lies.
there is no way you have heard of trust.

following you everywhere
never having anyone
because you chase them all away
in the end.
