Dropping Daylight Poem by Nicole Gehrman

Dropping Daylight

Sun slowly setting
the baby blue sky changing
from burnt umber to a
deep purple.
Lights dancing across
the faces outlinning
them

Moon slowly rising
two lovers bathed in
blackness till the moon appears
all bright and calming
lighting up the passionate
kiss the lovers share.
shining upon them its cool rays

stars popping out
through the blackness
as the constellations witness
something far forbidden
lovers interlocted
so no wall could seperate them
each move so wanting
but not yet needy

The blanket all rumpled
but satisfaction still lingers
in the girl's deep eyes
as she looks into
the man's longing eyes
turning black from the reflection
off the shimmering lake.
