Depression Poem by Pensive Phoenix

Depression

Rating: 5.0

This darkness takes a hold
Comes from the shadows
I fear it will not go
It always makes a show

Cover all the mirrors
Keep the curtains closed
Linger in this endless moment
As you sit here on your own

Drink yourself numb
But it is never done
It will catch you when you run
It will always come

Can make your day be night
Will kill every single light
To blind your sight
And take your might

Depression is the enemy
Walking in the shadow of me
It whispers as I talk
And watches as I walk
It stalks me in a lonely room
Dances with me at a party
Sits next to me in the bus
Constant companion that
Carries this curse

There is only up when
You’ve hit your worst
This shadow will not stay
Hope will help you cope
As you brave another day
And love will let you know
That darkness comes
And darkness goes
