Depression is like an uninvited guest,
That you can't ask to leave,
It settles in and plants itself,
Just like a germinated seed,
It sprouts into your daily life,
And you can't help but surrender,
You end up giving in to it,
Like a drunken weekend bender,
You can puke up your emotions,
Even spit them on the floor,
But just like the uninvited guest,
It keeps on wanting more,
You have to face the music,
And then turn the stereo down,
Open the door and make a request,
That it go to another town,
Shake off the intrusion,
Wave goodbye and smile,
Get back inside and close the door,
Regain composure in a while,
With depression one must take control,
It's a never ending fight,
Keeping the door to uninvited guests,
Closed and locked up tight.
