Desert Fountain Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Desert Fountain

the desert fountain
was inhabited
once.
once.

now
desert it lies
the site of meetings
of ghosts and shrouds

the neighing of the winds
the dust that rose
ran round and round
hearing still
the whispering of
the desert fountain.
