Destiny Poem by Alex McCullough

Destiny

You look into my eyes,
And understand whatever I say,
No matter how much,
The regrets try to drown out my voice.
Just call me,
Whenever you're alone,
And I'll say goodbye,
To whatever I'm doing,
Just to come listen.
Counting down,
The times loves cheated me,
The zipper of my heart,
Continues to come undone,
It'll probably stay like this,
No matter what day it is,
Until I find the right one.
Keep reaching out,
Calling out my name,
And I'll kick aside all my plans,
Just to come running to you.
Like a ghost,
It's impossible to hide,
Those feelings you hold inside,
But I might just have,
The one cure that can help you.
Grab me a glass,
From the cupboard of your soul,
And allow me to give you a taste of destiny,
It might not keep you on your feet,
But at this moment,
It's the only medicine,
That you'll ever need for those troubles.
And if you ever want more,
Just knock on my door,
And I'll pour you another glass,
Just to keep you comin back for more.
