Devil Job Poem by Amity Willows

Devil Job

You give all you got,
Till you got nothing to give,
You work all day, just to live,
I guess that’s just the way it goes,
Yeah I know, I know.

I sold my soul to the devil job,
It was either that or thieve and rob,
I made bad money and worked all day,
And my boss never heard a word I’d say.

Now I’m far away from the devil boss,
He fired me, but it’s his loss,
You give all you got, till you got nothing to give,
And your maintained position is always an ‘if’.

They threaten you every single day,
And tell you’re fired if they don’t get their way,
So don’t sell your soul to the devil of work,
Watch out for that little dollar sign and the red pitchfork,

‘Cause it’s out to get you and take your soul,
And that should never be the way it goes.
