Did You? Poem by Joseph Anderson

Did You?

Rating: 4.9

Perhaps at some point in time
As I lay in final rest,
Someone searching through this rhyme
Might find solace from this test-

Did you search for truth each day?
Could you laugh and shed a tear?
Were there friends along the way?
Did you have and conquer fear?

Did you wrestle earthly greeds
And cross each bridge whereas it stood?
Did you fill some others needs
And smell sweet flowers in the woods?

Was there someone you could love
Who returned it every day?
Did some power from above
Lend you courage on the way?

When your turn has come to go
And you're free of earthly strife,
You will then most surely know
Just how precious was this life.

This poem was a great read. It flows as though leading one through life. Makes me think what I could do differently if only I could go back in life. It sure can make the future look brighter.
