Die Digter - Poem by Werner Horne

Vasgevang in duisend woorde
Ongesing die ruim akkoorde
Is die ritme van die digter
Sonder voorgee, Effens skugter
Lewensles saggies verdoesel
Met woordekwas, papirus esel

Verf nog maal
Net een keer weer
Se vir my wat ek moet leer
Van lewe, liefde en verdriet
Van opstaan weer en weer
Swyg jy, was jou traan verniet

Kom Picasso haal dit uit
Diep in lewe of verwyt
Verf die woorde op die doek
Gaan dan terug om meer te soek
Verf die kleure, woord-akriel
Verkwik dan so selfs nog n siel
