Differences Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Differences

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes I wander in my dreams asleep,
Finding myself in far off paradisiacal places
Full of unfamiliar strange and exotic faces,
People who look strangely at me and keep

Their distance.Because I am so different
Do they consider me a threat or have a fear
That I might do some unthinkable if too near?
Or do I unaware send a subtle message meant

In my dreams?I sense the same old tired distrust,
For differences neither they nor I can account
In life's daily experiences and cannot discount
Or surmount whether in dreams or wide awake, I must.

A beautiful poem well expressed. Thought provoking lines to ponder about.
