Different Chapters In Our Story Poem by chris schwartz

Different Chapters In Our Story

Eyeing up the couch,
Might be a good place to crash,
Feeling the thunderstorm,
That's brewing
In your angry eyes.
I didn't do nothing,
Cept' what nothing did
For me,
But from where you're standing
You ain't putting on a
Good disguise.
When the arms of loving
Get too tired
To help you
To fall asleep
And the soul you been
Searching for
Digs just a little too deep
I'll pour me another one
You'll search for another one
Somehow,
We'll both fall asleep.

But the morning crashes
I see the sunrise in your eyes
And the good time flashes
We can run but we can't hide.
Someday you'll wake up
Too tired to fight,
Then you'll understand
All that you needed,
Was someone to hold
Your hand.
All that you lived for
Was someone to
Hold your hand.
