Discovering The Wan Distance Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Discovering The Wan Distance

Valleys of families and little girls
Running through them, picking rosaries
While submarines hide out in fjords- or
The skeleton dances in the
Tower of whatever amusement her eyes look up
To discovering the wan distance
And the men driving the airplanes- they
Seem to be migrating
And she wonders if they have lovers.
