Disgrace Poem by Emily Lockard

Disgrace

Rating: 4.3

Why momma, please stop yelling
I know of nothing I did wrong
I've tried to do the right things
But I've been scolded all along

I only want to please you
Not to be a disgrace
But every time I see you
There's hatred on your face
Was I supposed to happen?
Was I a big mistake?

Oh don't leave me alone now
I can't make it on my own
I need a loving family
And a place I can call home

What if I chose to run away?
Would I be wanted back?
If not, I understand, Mom
Though I'm sure my heart would crack

What if I were to die now?
Would you know I wasn't there?
But even if you didn't
I'd watch over you with care
