Distance - Poem by Aditya Chandrasen Salvi

We were born in the same Month.
Same City.
And on same Time.
But with a distance
Of just one Day.

We schooled from same School.
Same Year.
And in same Class.
But with a distance
Of just one Division.

We studied in same College.
Same Building.
And in same Year.
But with a distance
Of just one Faculty.

We shared same Affection.
With same Intensity.
And with same Devotion.
But with a distance
Of just one Faith.

She died in the same Month,
We were Born in.
But at a distance of one State.
I didn’t.
Though I shared the same Month.

Death took her Away.
But not me.
Might be – Death like Birth
Missed me
Just by a distance of one Day.

Today,
Distance though of thousand Miles and Days,
Doesn’t Exist.
For I know.
Though taken away from me,
She resides in me.
She is me and i am Her.
