Distance.Broken.Innocent. Poem by Ashitei Amar

Distance.Broken.Innocent.

I see her in the hood
I taste her in my food
She's the thought in my head
She's the pillow in my bed
She has the looks I admire
The tender love I desire
We weren't friends though
I guess that's why I never said hello
The furthest was a stare and a wink
her lashes stilled my moments with a blink
Wished I could do more and wave
But I just wasn't that brave
Like a nursed a flower, my love for her bloomed
It bloomed and bloomed till I was fed up
My mind was made up
Should I next spot her, I'll let her know
That for her, I've got feelings to show
And I wont spare if there's a kiss to blow
But when I saw her she was with another guy
Her hair wine with dye
Miserably watched from afar as they conversed and laughed
Next, she took his phone and gave her contact
Hugged him and gave her lips for a kiss
When they parted ways
A smile reigned on her face
Unnoticed, she passed me by
Didn't bother to say hi
I felt my heart sink with pain
I've admired in vain
I never gave my trust yet I felt betrayed
She's a betrayer, a murderer
Hold up! !
Abusing her is absurd
Calling her names makes no sense
'Cause I never confessed my love
Nor made moves to win her heart
She never knew me 'cause I never introduced me
She never recognized me for I never approached her
She didn't know my heart was at stake
Though she never cared and made it break
She's innocent for the hurt she caused
She's blameless for the pain she brought
She bears not a scintilla of guilt
