Divorce Poem by Rhonda Middleton

Divorce

The suffering, the pain will it never end
I'm letting go so my heart can mend
My tears have fallen, my heart is broken
The truth, the lies, they have all be spoken

I've waited and watched to my disgust,
A system that is broken and unjust
Watched strangers point fingers and accuse
Ripping apart my baby, she was already abused

The little ones, they don't understand
This soulless person, who calls himself a man
Who despite his efforts to destroy her
Has only hurt the innocent and pure

There is no hate or judgment coming from this pen
Just the lingering truth that will forever haunt him
She's wiser now and doesn't trust men
Her beauty hides the scars she bares within
