Divorce Poem by Sally Plumb Plumb

Divorce

Rating: 5.0

The meal was good,
he was quiet
and faraway.

A candle flickered,
she was well liquored
but let his peace pervade.
The table was cleared,
yet he stlll appeared.
to be silent and sad.

"You've something to say? "

"Yes, my thoughts are astray."

"Please, tell me why, Dad.
Are you seeing another? "

"I'm afraid so, my dear.
I've a date with your mother."
