Do I Belong Here Poem by Matt Burgett

Do I Belong Here

Happy moments here are rare
But every once in a while
A lovable person like you so fare
Will come along and take my heart away
And hold it close while you run to safety

So when you finally do escape
And you get to look into my eyes
You'll get lost in a sea of blue
And then you will start to cry
And say your love for me is pure and true

So now I am asking this question
Do I belong here
Even when I am cast out
With everything else you fear

I tell you this with a vision of lostlesness
Because I just don't feel like I belong when I'm without you
Well that is at least
Until I marry you

So tell me if I belong
And if I should stay
To tell me I can be with you
Every single day

So do I belong here with you...
If I do just tell me the words
Just tell me the words
I love you
