Do I Need Words? Poem by Namita Rani Panda

Do I Need Words?

No doubt words free the thoughts hidden behind our eyes
But if wrongly chosen can be a bunch of lies,
Words are often such traitors
That, instead of bridging gaps
Create unbridgeable separations.

Aren't a kind glance,
A loving face,
A warm embrace,
A gesture of grace,
A hand to bless
Far more expressive than mere words?

Aren't a helping hand to heal,
An empathetic heart to feel,
A loving look to inspire
Joyous claps to cheer
Far more meaningful than mere words?

If serene silence is far more profound than thousand loud words,
You tell me, do I need words
To express my feelings
And prove my existence?
