Do I Take It For Granted? - Poem by Pam Fraser

Do I take it for granted?

Do I take it for granted that when I think of you?

Do I take it for granted that you're thinking of me too?

Do I take it for granted each day when you
give that wink that everything is fine?

Do I take it for granted you'll respond
in your loving ways?

Do I take it for granted when you want to cuddle
with me every night because it feels so right?

Do I take it for granted that I won't let you, let our love
disappear?

Do I take it for granted that you see my love is clear to you?

Do I take it for granted that we are going to be together for eternity?

Do I take it for granted that you have seen some insecurity?

Do I take it for granted that each and every day,
I will show my feelings for you in a special way?

Do I take it for granted that in everything we do,
there's a part of you with me, and part of me with you.

Do I take it for granted that you and I have made both our
dreams come true?

I am sorry If I do take it for granted............

    Dear Pam,
There's one thing that many inexperienced poets do.
There's one thing that I've seen over and over again on this site.
There's one thing that some poets seem to think is original but it isn't.
There's one thing that is so cliche that it destroys any poem that employs it.
Can you guess what it is?
