Do You Know Me? Poem by David Kevin Koch

Do You Know Me?

What’s my favorite color?
You don’t know.
What’s my favorite number?
You don’t know.
What do I want to be in life?
You don’t know
What was my best friends name when I was young?
You don’t know.

And you think you know me.
And you think you have me all figured out
And you think you know what breaks me
Or what makes me
And you think you know everything about me

You think you know me?
You think you can name one true fact about me?
I’ll give you all the time in the world, go think

What’s the name of the girl that I like?
You don’t know.
What’s the one thing that I’m afraid of?
You don’t know.
What’s more important to me, friends or family?
You don’t know
What’s the one thing I can’t live without?
You don’t know

Time’s up, what’s your answer?
Do you think you know me?
Do you think you can figure me out?
Try.
