Do You Not? Poem by Omar Khoury

Do you not see the sunshine behind her face,
And the moonlight behind her gorgeous eyes?
Do you not see the sunset that illuminates her grace,
Or the fire that brings out a spirit like a child's?

Do you not sense the blessing of her touch,
Or the meaning behind her gracious words?
Do you not sense her laughter that brightens up Earth so much,
Or the sacred song she sings that rival the birds?

Do you not cherish her glorious presence,
As God's greatest gift to all nations?
So magnificent that hope and all its essence,
Does not quite come close to this angel of God's creation!

As time continues, we lose our treasures, some that are pearls,
But never dare to dream of losing such a girl.
