Dominance And Us Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Dominance And Us

How can you stand watching me on my knees?
You are the same one who said he would sacrifice a limb for me with ease.

Do you hear my plea?
Or is it so light like the foam of the sea?

I don't cry.
That doesn't mean I stop the pain even when I try.

What can I do to bring you back?
I feel like I lost you from the day I was under attack.

I want you to remember.
The thought of being together.

I want you to cherish.
What is like to not be selfish.

These are not things that should be taught.
Rather what you should know before being caught.
