Don'T Poem by Anusha Subramanian 99

Don'T

Don't talk to stranger
Don't ride a bike
Don't ever abuse
It's not ladylike!

Don't wear something too short or long
Don't go out with someone wrong
Sit up straight, don't slouch or sink
Dear God! What will society think!

With so many restrictions we girls are bound
Trying to please everyone around
Have to be perfect, stereotyped
Always surrounded by extra-hype

Don't be distracted study well
Don't lose your heart, it'll be hell
Arranged marriage, don't disobey
In this matter you have no say

The guy should be boring, business major
How does it matter if he's a stranger?
Expected to be perfect and do what we're told
You don't know but we're worth our weight in gold.

There are so manyaypeople who look to put restrictions on us, as women...The best advice I can offer is to never compromise yourself and follow the dreams of your heart. Sadly, still, in this day and age, many girls are not given the chance to fully develop into wonderful women with the ability to change the world's vision. I wish you PEACE in your everyday evolution.
