Don'T Blame Me Poem by Francis Duggan

Don'T Blame Me

Don't blame me mate I did not vote for Howard
'Tis not my fault that he has been empowered
To rule this Nation in his clandestine way
Though he could be nearing his come uppance day.

Don't worry mate I will not vote for Rudd
Like Howard he will not lift anyone out of the financial mud
But in the next Election he is tipped for to win
The pollsters seem to think that he is a shoo in.

In Australia the gap between the haves and have nots has never been so wide
But Howard and Treasurer Costello take a certain pride
In Australia's booming economy that's okay for those doing well financially
But of no use at all to those in poverty.

If you say you are struggling financially we are in the same boat
But don't blame me mate for the Howard Government I did not vote
But if Rudd comes to power he won't have to thank me
For I will not be helping him to victory.
