Don'T Captains Go Down With Their Ships? Poem by Jeffrey Philip Clegg

Don'T Captains Go Down With Their Ships?

Rating: 5.0

Dear God,

Since I fell into a black hole and
Can't seem to claw my way out
Are you just testing me again?
If so, I have my doubts...

My tears bring me no clarity
Instead they calcify the pain
Of worry and depression
Ne'er-ending self disdain.

Loneliness and anxiety
My two constant companions -

Is my ship sinking, Lord, and
Do I merely go down
'Mongst the galleon?

Amen
