Don'T Die Poem by mary mesa

Don'T Die

Put the gun down, the pills away
Live to see day after day
I won't ask why, I don't care to know
Just know I don't want you to go
There are so many reasons for you to live
Just think of what you have to give
think about what you have to say
think about what you can do
think about how much I love you
what you want to do cannot be undone
think of all the happiness and love yet to come
don't make me put a flower on your grave
live so that in our old age i can compliment you on all you gave
don't let yourself believe there are many people who wish to see you dead
those silly ideas are just in your head
nobody's perfect, not you or me
just feel you're beautiful, please believe
i can't make things better with a wave of my hand
but i'll be there to help you stand, i'll help you when i can
i beg and plea\d with you to stay
but if i stop, don't worry, I've gone to pray
it's selfish of me, but I don't want to set you free
I'm not ready to give you up to Heaven above,
I still crave more of your love
its okay to cry, but please my friend,
don't die.
