Captaining My Soul Poem by mary mesa

Captaining My Soul

Rating: 5.0

You try to hold me down
You treat me like a horse
That just needs its spirit broken
You just want to use my soul
As training wheels
Because when you try
To steer your soul
A bike riding on the road of life
You just fall
So you need my spirit
My strong unbreakable spirit
To try and help you gain that balance
You never had anyway.
But what you didn’t realize
That little screw you left out
Is that NOBODY
can conquer my soul
I stand up on my own two feet
My soul is like poetry
It doesn’t need to follow proper grammer
I alone
Can steer my soul
Tell it what to do
It doesn’t need
Your freaking opinion
Who the heck asked you anyway?
You like to pretend
Youre some big macho guy
That you don’t need
Anybody’s help to find balance
But stop acting like youre me
When it comes to conquering
Whatever “ soul “ you have
Youre feeble
And youre weak
Its like youre just a piece of gum
Letting fate chew on you
Till youre just a wrinkled up mass
With no flavor
Stop picking on me
Just because
Fate
Is like a cool breeze in my face
While I captain my soul
A bike on the road of life
While you just sit there
Waiting for someone
Who has a strong spirit
You think
you can conquer
but you cant.
