Don'T Let Your Love Be Discounted Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Don'T Let Your Love Be Discounted

If you ever wish to say the words 'I love you'
and they come from deep inside
Don't hesitate to speak them
These words are not meant to hide

If love is the wind behind every breath
and in the echo of your heart
and feels like life or death
Don't let it tear you apart

God gives each woman and man
a heart and soul to feel
and it searches without rest
for kindness and care and love real

Your heart, however broken
is still a precious thing
Like a bell of love and joy
Meant one day to ring

Don't feel ashamed
when the one you love
turns you away
Yourself you shouldn't blame

Some only think they know love
and to most it is just a game
Some seek perfection or riches
and some dream of fame

But love is more precious
than diamonds, gems or jewels
One love is angelic
and the other meant for fools

And if your love goes unnoticed
or if its thrown away
Keep it safe somehow
for a special long-awaited day

Because your love is just as good
as any ever known
and you'll share it oneday
No longer left to fend alone

Because your love is meant for someone
who knows your heart is sweet and kind
and they'll feel your love in their soul and mind
Because to them, you'll be their heart's greatest find

What is meant to be will oneday be revealed
and with a special heartfelt kiss it will be sealed
and then you're heart will surely know
The special bond that is meant to grow

So cross your heart and say a prayer to God above
if you had one wish and if dreams really could come true
Someone will dream this dream for you:
LOVE!
